Soooo

Soo when Kaylee was a little baby, like 3 weeks old her Nana put her into the clothes basket and she was able to lay out and spread out with room to spare....not anymore! I was doing laundry and Kaylee was being clingy so I just threw her on top of the warm clean clothes and carried her into the living room to help me fold them. Who am I kidding, I fold them and she unfolds them!

Kaylee's First Steps

Kaylee took her first steps! Yippee! Here are a couple of the first ones caught on tape. She is quite proficient at it now so we will post more vidoes soon of Kaylee zooming around the house!

She Can Climb!

What Can She Get Into Now?

Well what can I say she is her mother's daughter.....The pictures are of Kaylee rearranging out pantry for us, I guess she didn't like the way I had it all set up. The next video explains itself and I am sure that my mom and dad will appreciate it very very much....

New Teething Relief

I think we have discovered one of the best, natural and yummiest teethers ever! This past November when Cheryl and Teri were visiting for their choral competition, we went and visited the Dole Plantation. At the end of the train ride, which Kaylee loved mostly because I nursed her the entire time and the wind had an nice breeze going thru the open train cars, we got to watch a presentation on cutting pineapples. The woman giving the presentation started off with cutting off the the inside cores of the pineapple. She noticed Kaylee in the crowd, I mean how could she not she is the cutest thing ever, and offered a piece of the core to Kaylee. She went on to tell us that many locals had been using them as teethers for years. Well sure enough Kaylee chomped down on it and we didn't hear a peep out of her for about the next hour and a half. She even fell asleep with it in her hand on the ride back to Honolulu and woke up crying after dropping it in her sleep. So I went out and bought us a pineapple the next week. Kaylee was in heaven for the next couple of days!

Kaylee Has a Friend Over

This past October, our friend and fellow Marine, Roman had his daughter visiting him. Kaylee and Kaylen used to play together when they were younger. They are 6 months apart almost to the day, well we hadn't seen her since May, so this was quite exciting for Kaylee. Kaylen was a little bit scared at first and just wanted to sit in her daddy's lap. But after dinner both girls got down and played together or at least took toys from each other. At the end of the evening Kaylen didn't want to leave and it was so sad having to kiss the munchkin goodbye.

Mini Marathon of Blogging

I am so so so so behind in my blogging...every time I think that I have time to blog something else comes up mostly sleepiness or Kaylee. So here it goes a mini blogging marathon...sit back, read, laugh and enjoy!

More Halloween Pics

We had a busy "fall" celebration time...if there is really a fall here on Oahu....Kaylee and I went to Aloun Farms and visited their pumpkin patch and picked out "the perfect pumpkin." Kaylee had no idea of what to think about being sat on the pumpkins, then she got curious and wanted to touch each and every one. Later that weeks we went to Halloween Town down in Kailua. Kaylee went trick-or-treatin in the costume parade led by Famous Amos. She then entered the costume contest but lost out to "The Coppertone Baby" So it was a worthy loss, and we had fun. She got to pick out another pumpkin from the patch. It was only after she and I pickout out the pumpkin that Michael mentioned to me that he saw roaches crawling around in the "pumpkin patch"....ahhhh don't we just love island life? For Halloween Kaylee donned her cupcake costume that her Nana and I made and took the streets. She got soooo much candy and I kid you not at almost every house we heard that she was the cutest costume of the night and baby! But we already knew that, right? She had fun the whole night and lasted for about 3 hours at it...never fussing till we got home.

The Back Yard

So a couple weeks ago, Kaylee and I were driving home from a day out in town when we turned onto our road we noticed that the there were a lot of cars pulled off on the road and ppl outside their houses looking up at the sky. So we pulled off and I looked up expecting to see an asteroid or a gigantic tidal wave headed our way..but alas it wasn't. Instead there were helo's landing in our backyard and offloading grunts. So Kaylee and I hurried to the house and walked down to the beach so get a good view of them coming in....it was really awesome and I caught one on video...check it out!

The 2nd week in Oct was Fire Prevention week here on base. They had a lot of activities for kids, older kids that is like toddlers and up. But Kaylee got to sit on Sparky's lap and climb onto the fire truck. She seemed to have a blast!

Kaylee got to celebrate her first Children's Day! Her Nana bought her a gift when she was here in January! Kaylee had soooo much fun opening the present....actually she probably had more fun with the bows and paper at first then the actual gift! What a nut! She just wants to tell Nana and Papa thank you so much for getting her a google too!

And there she goes!

Yes this video is the wrong way. I kept forgetting that you can't turn the camera for videos like you can for pictures. But I had to post this video cause its her first time walking with the Lion! This video is like 3 weeks old sorry, for the wait mom!

Our Family

So this is my first blog, whoo hoo!
So let me tell ya'll a little about my family. Michael is in the Marine Corp and we are currently stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu. Talk about taking one for the team right? Thanks to all the tax-payers for allowing us to serve our first enlistment in such a wonderful place. Michael has already been on 2 tours to Iraq. We had a bit of a scare about 2 weeks ago, they told him that he was leaving for Afghanistan, they came back a week later and recanted that. Whooo! We have been married since March 2007. In June of that year I called Michael when he was in Cali training to let him know that I was about 3 weeks pregnant. Michael was home for exactly one month of my pregnancy before leaving for Iraq. Kaylee was born a month early on Jan 19. Michael came home 3 weeks, after she came into our lives. She and her daddy are super close, they like to play together. We are currently in the middle of figuring out our next move. Michael is re-enlisting but wants to change his MOS. So we are not sure where this is going to take and for how long. Well that's all for now, not bad for my first blog right?

The minute Kaylee was born, it stopped being our world, and started being Kaylee's World. La la la la...La la la la....Kaylee's World!
